Bernadette Saleme |
Bernadette Saleme is one of the Disability Support Officers located in the Academic and Enabling Centre. She has extensive experience in the disability sector having worked in vocational rehabilitation assisting people with disabilities to return to the workforce or embark on other career paths. She has also worked with those who are long term unemployed with various medical conditions and disabilities under the Welfare to Work program. |

Fiona Darcy |
Fiona Darcy is a Disability Support Officer within the Academic Enabling and Support Centre on the Sydney campus of the University. Fiona has extensive experience working with students with a disability in a tertiary environment as well as in the general disability sector. Also, as Project Manager, Training - Villages Operations for the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games, she was responsible for developing and delivering disability awareness training for all staff and volunteers working in the Paralympic Village. Bernadette and Fiona’s role is to provide to provide advice and support to the university on adjustments to learning and assessment methods, equipment and support services to careers for students with individual needs resulting from injuries, health conditions and disabilities. They are available to assist staff and students to explore, formulate and implement reasonable adjustments to ensure that students with a disability have the opportunity to participate on the same basis as others, while maintaining the integrity of the inherent course requirements. |
