Kay Stringer was appointed as an academic lecturer with the School of Nursing in Broome in 2007. She is a Registered Nurse, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing Australia. Kay holds a Master of Nursing Leadership, Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing), and Certificate IV in Training and Workplace Assessment.  She is currently studying for her Graduate Certificate in Higher Education.

Kay was appointed as a Board Member on the Nurses Board of Western Australia for 3 years, and was also the Presiding Member of the Board’s Registration and Review Committee for some of that time. Previous to her appointment to Notre Dame, Kay worked as a Consultant with the Office of the Chief Nursing Officer of Western Australia. Prior to that, she held positions of lecturer and Course Co-ordinator with the enrolled nursing program at Central TAFE in Perth.

Before moving to Western Australia, Kay worked as a Nurse Educator with Queensland Health in central Queensland. She also held positions of lecturer and Course Co-ordinator in the enrolled nursing program with Queensland TAFE previous to that. Kay was also a committee member on the Queensland Nursing Council. Since becoming a Registered Nurse many years ago, Kay’s clinical experience was mostly gained in regional and rural areas.
