Prospective Students
As prospective students you are able to access the University’s JobBoard where current employment opportunities (part-time, casual and permanent) are advertised by employers.
As a student at Notre Dame, you will have full access to the services provided by the University’s Careers Centre.
The Careers Centre provides one-on-one careers support and group workshops to students from 1st Year through to Graduation and Alumni in the following areas:
-
Writing Resumes
-
Addressing Selection Criteria
-
Writing Covering Letters
-
Interview Techniques
-
“Careerworks” interactive computer program for career exploration and individualised career guidance
We invite students to make appointments to meet with us and discuss any of the above areas. We provide guidance and support in approaching employers effectively and assist students in making career pathway decisions. Such interaction can help with successful job hunting, confidence building and motivation. The Careers Centre also organises employer visits that provide information to students in all disciplines, advising them of employment opportunities, processes of application and expectations regarding future opportunities.
There are a number of resources available at the Careers Centre including industry specific information; handouts to assist with resume writing, interview skills and cover letters; Graduate Opportunities and Unigrad books. We encourage students to call in to the Careers Office to collect copies of these resources.
The Careers Officers are Annie Wynne (Mon – Wed) and Janine Tomlinson (Thurs/Fri)
Please contact the Careers Centre via email fremantle.careers@nd.edu.au or telephone (08) 94330582. Appointments can also be made by visiting the Careers Centre (ND6 - upstairs) or the Student Life Office (ND9).
