Current Students - Careers Centre
Annie Wynne (Mon, Tues, Wed) and Janine Tomlinson (Thurs and Fri) are the University's Careers Officers.
Appointments can be made with Annie or Janine by visiting the Careers Centre which is located above the Student Recreation Hall (Gym) or the Student Life Office (ND9). Both entries off Mouat Street.
As current students you are entitled to access the services to assist you in your transition from university to work. These include assistance with job applications and interviews given on a one-on-one basis (appointments preferred) and also through group workshops which are promoted through the Student Life Office.
We also have a designated computer for students to utilise the CareerWorks progam. This innovative program facilitates and integrates career guidance, goals/action planning and self marketing to assist in individual career exploration and job preparation.
We often receive information from Graduate Employers and will email these directly to targeted groups of students. Students can also access the University’s JobBoard (make active link) where current employment opportunities (part-time, casual and permanent) are advertised.
The Careers Centre also organises employer visits that provide information to students in all disciplines, advising them of employment opportunities, processes of application and expectations regarding future opportunities.
There are a number of resources available at the Careers Centre including industry specific information; handouts to assist with resume writing, interview skills and cover letters; Graduate Opportunities and Unigrad books.
Students can collect copies of these resources at the Careers Centre.
