Experienced subject specialist teachers and university academics will provide you with tips for excelling in your studies.

These two day courses are designed to prepare students for concepts that will be introduced in the second part of Year 11 through a combination of revision of semester one content and introduction of semester two content.

Our presenters are all subject specialists currently teaching in Catholic Schools.

Year 11 Mathematics Methods

This two day course is designed to consolidate students' understanding of Year 11 ATAR Mathematics Methods. Students will review Unit 1 content and be introduced to the content of Unit 2.

Unit 1

  • Functions of graphs
  • Trigonometric functions
  • Counting and probability

Unit 2

  • Exponential functions
  • Arithmetic and geometric sequences and series
  • Introduction to differential calculus

Cost: $180.00
Date: Monday 10th July & Tuesday 11th July
Time: 9.30am – 3.15pm daily. (Lunch will be provided on both days)

Year 11 ATAR English

This two day course is designed to consolidate students' understanding of Year 11 ATAR English. Students will review Unit 1 content and be introduced to the content of Unit 2.

Unit 1

  • The relationships between language, text, purpose, context and audience.
  • The similarities and differences between texts and how visual elements combine with spoken and written elements to create meaning.
  • Creating texts and reflecting on learning.

Unit 2

  • Analysis of the representation of ideas, attitudes and voices in texts.
  • Analysis of how language and structural choices shape perspectives in and for a range of contexts.
  • Responding to and creating texts.
  • Reflection on language choices.

Year 11 ATAR Human Biology

This two day course is designed to consolidate students' understanding of Year 11 ATAR Human Biology. Students will review Unit 1 content and be introduced to the content of Unit 2.

Unit 1 – The functioning human body

  • The structure and function of body systems
  • The interrelationships between systems
  • Support metabolism and body functioning

Unit 2 – Reproduction and inheritance

  • The reproductive systems of males and females
  • The mechanisms of transmission of genetic material
  • The effects of the environment on gene expression

Year 11 ATAR Chemistry

This two day course is designed to consolidate students' understanding of Year 11 ATAR Chemistry. Students will review Unit 1 content and be introduced to the content of Unit 2.

Unit 1 – Chemical fundamentals: structure, properties and reactions

  • Use modes of atomic structure and bonding to explain the macroscopic properties of materials
  • Energy changes associated with chemical reactions and the use of chemical equations to calculate the masses of substances involved in chemical reactions

Unit 2 – Molecular interactions and reactions

  • Bonding models and the relationship between structure, properties and reactions
  • The unique properties of water and the properties of acids and bases, and use of chemical equations to calculate the concentrations and volumes of solutions involved in chemical reactions
