Admission as an International Student

Academic Requirements

International students intending to enrol at the University of Notre Dame Australia need to satisfy minimum academic entry requirements.

Postgraduate
Entry into the Master of Business Administration or Master of Business normally requires the equivalent of an Australian Bachelors degree as well as at least two years of work experience in a management capacity. Prospective students who do not meet these requirements can consider enrolling in the Graduate Certificate of Business. Upon successful completion of this semester of study with a distinction average across all subjects, students can then transfer into the MBA or MBus programs.

Special consideration
Applicants may be considered for special consideration or recognition of prior learning which may allow them admission to the course of choice even though the academic entry requirements have been met. This normally occurs in cases where an applicant has other forms of post-secondary achievement and study (for example, professional qualifications). Please submit details of this with your application.

Applicants who are currently in Australia
Prospective students who are currently studying at another Australian educational institution and are planning on continuing study at Notre Dame should apply directly through the Notre Dame Admissions Office as per the procedure for all international students. Issuing of Confirmation of Enrolments (CoE's) and other visa and health requirements is administered by the Notre Dame Student Life Office.

Enquiries regarding admission should be directed to the Notre Dame Admissions Office .

General Information

Student Visas

A student visa is required for study in Australia. The Notre Dame Admissions Office or a designated Notre Dame representative will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) when you have:

  • accepted a formal offer of a place at the University of Notre Dame Australia
  • satisfied any conditions of that offer
  • paid the fees outlined in the invoice sent with the Letter of Offer

The visa application process can be lengthy and applications should be submitted as early as possible. Further information on visa application procedures can be obtained from the nearest Australian diplomatic post or from the Department of Immigration, Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) . We encourage applicants to apply well in advance of the intended start date, and certainly not less than eight weeks prior to the start of the study semester.
