The University offers an array of Graduate Certificates in Education that enable four-year trained teachers to develop their skills in a particular area. The program provides flexible learning options with the opportunity to upgrade their qualification to a Master of Education on completion of a further four units.

The Graduate Certificate in Religious Education provides cohesive, specialised study for those wishing to develop their Religious Education skills and qualification. The Graduate Certificate allows a student to quickly complete a Religious Education upgrade or specialisation.

Course Structure
The Graduate Certificate in Religious Education consists of four units as follows:

One Core Theology Unit
  • TH542 Christology OR TH544 Mystery of Christ 4: Church and Sacraments

One Core Religious Education Unit\
  • ED6188 Critical Issues in Religious Education 1 OR ED6189 Critical Issues in Religious Education 2

Two Religious Education Electives
Students choose from a range of available units.

Students may undertake study as a part-time or full-time student, commencing in Summer Term (January), in Semester One (February) or April Intensive, in Winter Term (July), in Semester Two (July) or October Intensive, subject to unit availability.
Admission Requirements
Students applying for the Graduate Certificate in Education (Early Childhood Education) must hold a four year early childhood or primary teaching qualification and have at least three years of professional experience.
