Course Overview
The Graduate Certificate in University Teaching aims to provide participants with:
  • a sound knowledge of the principles of adult learning;
  • a wide repertoire of teaching skills;
  • an understanding of best practice in assessment;
  • enhanced research, planning, teaching and evaluative skills;
  • and an understanding of pedagogical issues which can be applied to teaching in their specific discipline areas.


The Graduate Certificate in University Teaching course requires the successful completion of four units; three of these units are compulsory and there is a choice of two electives. Where there is interest, the completion of all five units is allowed.

Admission Requirements
To be eligible for entry into the Graduate Certificate in University Teaching an applicant must have, as a minimum qualification, a recognised Bachelor degree in an unspecified discipline area.
