The Graduate Diploma of Midwifery emphasises the close integration of evidence based theory, clinical practice, and research. The educational model exposes students to many different clinical sites in city and rural areas, large and smaller hospitals, and community and women’s health settings. Students develop a high level of critical and reflective thinking skills, technical competence and interdisciplinary teamwork skills, necessary for professional clinical practice.

Requirements
The course will be available to registered nurses who have a previous degree or who have accumulated a wealth of experience in the area, but who do not have a degree. These nurses will be provided with additional support when embarking upon the course.
