Careerhub Frequently Asked Questions
What is Careerhub?
The University of Notre Dame Australia has introduced Careerhub to assist you in all your job hunting and career planning needs. It is for the exclusive use of Notre Dame Students and recent graduates. Some of the information on Careerhub includes:
- part-time, casual and volunteer employment opportunities
- graduate and full-time employment opportunities
- work experience and internship information
- careers related seminars and work shops
- plus plenty of useful career information such a how to write a resume, interview tips etc.
When should I register on Careerhub?
It is recommended that you register on Careerhub as early as possible in your studies, ideally first year as this is when you should really start exploring career ideas. This can ensure that you are kept up to date should any relevant information / events come along and keep you notified of things that you can do to set yourself apart when you graduate.
Why should I register on CareerhHub?
Registering on Careerhub is a very simple way to ensure that you are kept up to date with a large amount of information to assist you in your career planning and can also help you to find a job. Once registered, you will be able to customise the type of information they receive by discipline and career interest areas. You are also able to download this information automatically into a resume format for you to tailor to suit your needs.
How do I register?
As it is an online package, you can register from any computer with internet access. Click here to visit the login page. Please note that once you have registered, an email will be sent to your email address for confirmation.
Is there a cost associated with using Careerhub?
No – it is free to all Notre Dame Students and recent graduates.
Will I receive notification when new information is put on the website?
Through indicating in the registration process that you would like to receive emails from Careerhub we will keep you updated regularly of the new information that is entered that matches your chosen service and discipline. We do recommend however, that you also log in regularly to check it out to ensure you don’t miss any relevant information.
Why don’t I receive the same information as my friends?
Careerhub will send you information based on the 'discipline' and 'service' categories you selected when registering. You can change your preferences at any time in the 'Update Profile' section of Careerhub.
Can I see vacancies in other discipline / service areas areas?
Yes. Although you are asked to choose a specific discipline and service so we can automatically tailor information to suite you, you can manually review any information on the Careerhub site but using the 'Create New Job Search' tool.
Can I change my initial registration?
Yes. You can change all of the information you included at registration by clicking on the links in the 'Update Profile' menu.
Can I access Careerhub off Campus?
Yes, as Careerhub is an internet based tool, you can access it at any time through any computer that has internet access.
Can I still organise a meeting with the Careers Officer?
Of course. Make sure that you have registered and reviewed the information on Careerhub first and if you still have questions or concerns, please call 08 9433 0580 to make an appointment.
