The health care industry has diverse needs and through the practice of physiotherapy, professionals are produced who will work across a spectrum of approaches to improving health.
Physiotherapy students undertake a comprehensive program of specialist physiotherapy studies, behavioural and health sciences and professional development. This is facilitated by intensive clinical education experiences throughout the degree.
The course is developed around the concept of Physiotherapy as an applied science. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on the importance of evidence-based clinical practice and the use of ongoing research in physiotherapy, therefore developing and building student research skills for use in professional practice.
The fully accredited course offers a formal curriculum that contains all of the elements required for professional accreditation by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. Graduates are eligible for registration as a physiotherapist with the Australian Physiotherapy Registration Board and eligible for Full Membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
