Annabeth Kemp was educated at Curtin University of Technology where she completed a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Biology) which focused on zoology and aquatic science. Her PhD in freshwater ecology investigated the ecology, toxicology and morphology of cyanobacterial blooms in Perth metropolitan wetlands. During her time at Curtin University she taught in the areas of plant and animal biology and was a research assistant for the Wetland Research Group and International Diatom Herbarium. Her interest in harmful algal blooms facilitated her employment as a phytoplankton taxonomist for the Department of Water, Western Australia. Commencing her employment at Notre Dame in 2005, Annabeth coordinates the Science program teaching into the discipline of Biology.
