Professor Neil Drew |

Prior to joining Notre Dame Professor Drew was the Director of the Institute for Regional Development (IRD) at the University of Western Australia. Neil is a Community Psychologist with almost 20 years experience working with communities, groups and individuals. He has a particular interest in Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and has published, taught and presented Social Impact Assessment Training courses in Australia and overseas, including South Africa and Sri Lanka. Neil has also worked on projects examining the impact of mining on communities, particularly in the area of community liaison and participation. He has expertise in sustainability issues and was a project team leader in the Sustainable Communities Network of the Health Inequalities Research Collaboration, a national research collaboration examining the sustainability of regional communities. A final area of interest is in the manifest loss of trust and confidence in Government and public officials at all levels. He has developed methods for working collaboratively with communities to reinvest trust in the decision making process. |
