Our Work Integrated Learning program provides opportunities for you to gain professional experience before you graduate. You can also expand your horizons and study part of your degree overseas through our Experience the World program and Study Abroad program.

• Work Integrated Learning

  The School of Arts & Sciences offers you the chance to learn on location through our internship programs. Normally undertaken in the final semester, the program places students in a real-world working environment within the profession they hope to enter. Apart from gaining valuable practical experience and industry contacts, you also receive academic credit for this placement. Work Integrated Learning is one of the reasons why Notre Dame is ranked number one in Western Australia for Skills Development and Graduate Employment in the Humanities, Culture and Social Sciences.  Internships take place in museums, media organisations, arts companies and government departments.

• Mentoring/Academic Support

  Notre Dame’s Mentor Program aims to smooth the transition from school (or work) to university life by linking first year students with student mentors. In addition, Student Success helps students formulate their goals and develop the skills and confidence needed to attain them. Student Success offers a range of courses and programs, plus support for students with special educational requirements.

• Facilities

  The School of Arts & Sciences occupies three restored heritage buildings in the heart of Fremantle. The complex includes a number of specialist facilities for communications and science students. Students have access to St Teresa’s Library, located on Bateman Courtyard, which has a large collection of print and digital material, plus study rooms, open access PCs, study tables and printers.
