Dr Lucy Morris has very recently, taken up the role of Chief Executive Officer of Baptistcare, a community benefit organisation that provides a range of aged care, disability, mental health, counselling and community services across metropolitan and regional Western Australia. 

Dr Morris has worked in the community sector since arriving in Perth in late 1991 and joined Baptistcare in November 2008 after six years as CEO of Community Vision Inc.   In early 2007, after three years of research, she completed her PhD through Curtin University of Technology Business School.  The research was on Leadership in Charitable Non-Government Organisations (NGOs): Integrating Individual and Organisational Beliefs. This was published in 2007.  In 2008 she was appointed Adjunct Professor to the School of Business at The University of Notre Dame University Australia.

Dr Morris has a 1st Class Honours Theology degree and a Master of Philosophy degree, both from Manchester University.  While living in the UK, she worked as a journalist, as an NHS manager specifically in the addictions sector, and in public relations.  She is currently on the Board of Ishar, Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health; a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors; and, is presently writing a book on women in Australian charities due to be completed this year.
