Matt Tilling |
Prior to joining the University, Matt had over a decade of experience lecturing in Australia and South East Asia. He has taught topics in corporate, financial, and social and environmental accounting to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, with a primary focus on the issues affecting large corporations. Matt delivers seminars and training to a range of professional, government and corporate groups. He provides regular training to both the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and CPA Australia in financial accounting. He has also been involved with syllabus and exam design for high school accounting in Western Australia. Matt has published articles on accounting education and social and environmental accounting in a number of international journals and is on the author team of a leading undergraduate accounting text in Australia. He is in the final stages of his PhD, A Critical Analysis of Occupational Health and Safety Disclosure in the Annual reports of Australian Listed Companies , which examines the use of annual reports to engaged stakeholders in corporate legitimization. Matt’s teaching philosophy involves the synthesis of current practice and research into highly relevant, technically excellent and, where possible, engaging courses that prepare students for today’s rapidly evolving accounting environment while considering the important ethical and moral issues that face an accountant. |
