Professor Greg Tan |
Professor Greg Tan is the foundation Head of Biomedical Science in the School of Health Sciences. He completed his PhD degree in the School of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, University of Queensland and was a Professor of Physiology, a Deputy Dean and an Associate Dean of a Medical School in Malaysia prior to his appointment here. He has published extensively in the field of reproductive physiology, infertility (endometriosis, early embryo development etc) and medical education. His current research interests are in cancer biology, endometriosis, problem-based learning and e-learning. He has extensive teaching experience, having taught Human Physiology in several medical schools at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has been an external examiner to several medical universities overseas. He brings with him vast experience in teaching, research and curriculum development. He was involved in the initial accreditation of the School of Medicine at UNDA. He is a member of the WA Curriculum Council Human Biological Science Course Advisory Committee, a member of the Integrated Human Studies at the University of Western Australia, a mentor in the sanofi-aventis BioGeneius Challenge of Western Australia, is involved in the Triple S Science Fair for the promotion of Science in Western Australia and is active in medical education in the South-East Asian region.
