School of Law: Careers & Alumni
Alumni
The School of Law produced its first graduating class in 2000.
Graduates from all of these classes have taken up articled clerkships at major law firms both here in Western Australia, and in the Eastern States. Firms that have recruited Notre Dame Law graduates include Phillips Fox, Clayton Utz, Blake Dawson Waldron, Freehills and Minter Ellison. Several graduates have also taken up positions as Judges' associates, and clerkships at the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Legal Aid Commission.

What can you do with a Law degree?
The Bachelor of Laws from the University of Notre Dame is a fully accredited Australian Law degree permitting graduates to seek admission to the legal profession after the completion of an article clerkship. Once admitted, Law graduates can work as solicitors or barristers, allowing them to give legal advice and appear in court.
What if I do not want to be a lawyer?
The Bachelor of Laws does not limit graduates to a career in Law. Many employers see the qualification as a very good general degree and excellent training for a wide variety of careers. Graduates may obtain employment in the public service, foreign affairs, journalism, private industry and the banking sector, just to name a few.
NDLSS Careers Guide
Every year, the Notre Dame Law Students' Society publishes a Careers Guide, an invaluable resource for law students about to embark on their pathway to employment within a highly competitive job market. The Careers Guide contains a wealth of information on the range of career options available to law graduates, along with advice on clerkships, applications and interviews.
The NDLSS also organise recruitment information sessions with high-profile law firms - these can be of enormous benefit to potential applicants. To keep yourself up to date with forthcoming events or to view the online version of the Careers Guide, contact the Notre Dame Law Students' Society via the School of Law on 9433 0720 or by email: law@nd.edu.au .
