Ms Claire Kaylock |
Claire completed a graduate law degree at UWA in 1995 and was admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of WA the following year. She subsequently worked in a variety of private and public sector positions, and in two community legal services. She has been a member of the Social Security Appeals Tribunal and a Registrar of the Federal Court of Australia. Most of Claire’s practice has been in civil law, with a focus on property law – especially in the area of Native Title. In 2004 Claire left legal practice and discovered a passion for teaching. She has taught Contract Law and Property Law at Notre Dame since 2006, and during this time has developed a strong interest in pedagogical theory. In 2010 Claire was awarded an ALTC Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning, and will complete the final unit for her Graduate Certificate in University Teaching during 2011. Claire is also studying towards her Master of Laws by research. Her research interests lie in the areas of property theory, autonomy, ownership of human body products, and the deconstruction of legal power. |
