Nanâ returned to the Fremantle School of Law after spending 3 ½ years on the Sydney Campus establishing the Sydney School of Law in her roles as Assistant and Acting Dean. Nanâ is undertaking a PhD at the University of Sydney on the Commodification of Human Beings (dealing with the law governing the traffic in human tissue). She also has a LLM from Australian National University and an LLB from the University of Sydney. Nanâ worked with the Department of Public Prosecutions in NSW before coming to academia. While a student of Law, Nanâ acted as an Associate to renowned NSW Supreme Court Justice, The Honourable Mr Barry O’Keefe AM, QC. While Assistant Dean of Law in Sydney she was Assistant Secretary of the St Thomas More Society for Catholic Lawyers, an Honourary Fellow of St John’s College at the University of Sydney, and a member of the St Vincent Hospital's Human Research Ethics Committee. Nanâ has a passion for education and communication. In addition to her legal qualifications Nanâ has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Journalism from Curtin University, a Diploma of Education from Edith Cowan and a Masters of Educational Leadership from Notre Dame. Of the six universities she has attended, it was her time at Notre Dame which had the most profound impact on Nanâ. The strong sense of community she enjoyed while undertaking her Masters in Education eventually drew her back to Notre Dame to join the ranks of academia. Nanâ teaches Evidence Law, Bioethics, Human Rights Law and Contemporary Legal Issues. |
