Dr Phil Evans is a Professor and Course Coordinator of the Graduate Certificate in Building and Construction Law in the Graduate School of Law. Before leaving to practice law full time with a national law firm and later in his own practice, he was the Head of the Department of Construction Management and later Acting Head of the School of Architecture Construction and Planning at Curtin University. At Curtin he lectured in Building and Construction Law and Technology at the Bentley campus and in Singapore and Malaysia. Since 1999 he has been a lecturer and Workshop Presenter in the IA MA- University of Adelaide Professional Certificate of Arbitration.
At Notre Dame Phil has lectured in Principles of Contract, Torts, Intellectual Property Law, Trade Practices Law, Building and Construction Contracts, Construction Claims and Dispute Resolution in the Construction Industry. He is a graded arbitrator, and LEADR trained and IA MA Accredited Mediator and a Registered Contract Construction Act Adjudicator. In addition to his legal and arbitration qualifications he is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Building, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers ( Australia) and a Member of the Institute of Arbitrators Australia. Phil researches and publishes in each of his teaching areas but has a particular interest in dispute resolution in the construction industry.
