School of Nursing, Fremantle and Broome

The School of Nursing, Fremantle and Broome offers a three-year course that includes thirty-nine weeks of clinical practice in areas ranging from aged care to critical care. This program is truly comprehensive with its aim to expose students to a wide variety of clinical experiences. An important aspect of this clinical education, which is novel to Western Australia and to most other parts of the country, is the use of mentors who provide one-on-one clinical supervision for our students.

The School also offers postgraduate studies with courses ranging from Graduate Certificates to a Doctor of Nursing program. The postgraduate courses provide further and continuing education to nurses with or without previous degrees.

Graduate Nurse Connect

Graduate Nurse Connect is the process for graduating registered nursing students to apply for all WA Government hospital and health service graduate programs. The website is www.gnc.health.wa.gov.au. Private health care providers in the State also offer similar programs. Students need to contact individual hospitals for graduate places.
