Dr Angela McCarthy is currently a lecturer in Theology for the School of Philosophy and Theology at Notre Dame University.  Her PhD was conferred at the University’s July 2007 Graduation and the title of her thesis is: A Grounded Theory: Realising Family Potential Through Choice of Schooling. Angela has worked for Notre Dame since 1999 in various capacities: lecturer in nursing education, religious education, education and theology, practicum coordinator for education, practicum coordinator for nursing, and coordinator of external studies for education. In August Angela presented a paper at the West Australian Institute for Educational Research and was also awarded the WAIER-Fogarty Post Graduate Research Award 2007 for UNDA.  Her paper outlining part of her theory will shortly be published in their journal.  She has also been nominated by Notre Dame University for the annual Thesis Award for the Australian Association of Research in Education. Angela also works extensively in liturgy and music in schools and parishes and is currently the convenor of the WA Chapter of the Australian Academy of Liturgy.  Her main areas of publication are in liturgy, music and education and she has recently engaged in further studies through a Research Masters of Theology that will concentrate on theology and art, faith and beauty.
