School of Philosophy and Theology, Fremantle

The School of Philosophy and Theology plays an integral role at The University of Notre Dame Australia in the realisation of its Objects. The School was formally established in 1993 and began offering its courses in the first semester of 1994. Firstly, as a service-provider to the other schools of the University, this School is responsible for the provision of the Core Curriculum to undergraduate and postgraduate students. In this capacity the School teaches thousands of students each year. Secondly, it also offers degrees in philosophy and theology for those pursuing careers in the Church, and in religious, theological and philosophical education generally.

The School of Philosophy and Theology seeks to strengthen the University in its Catholic identity and to enrich the University in its commitment to teaching and learning, research and service in the light of Catholic faith and values.
