School of Philosophy & Theology, Fremantle Campus

The School of Philosophy and Theology takes a leading role in the exploration and realisation of the University’s Objects. Our programs not only fully explore the Catholic intellectual tradition, but also encourage you to consider and question the fundamental assumptions we make about life itself.

A key component of this commitment is the University’s Core Curriculum which brings students from all schools together to explore the concepts of ethics, philosophy and theology. This program provides an opportunity to exercise your critical reasoning skills and engage in discussion and collaborative learning with students from all university disciplines. For keen travellers our Immersion Experiences provide the opportunity to explore cities like Athens, Rome and Jerusalem and connect with the local community through active participation, engagement and reflection.

  • Mentoring/Academic Support

Notre Dame’s Mentor Program aims to smooth the transition from school (or work) to university life by linking first year students with student mentors. In addition, Student Success helps students formulate their goals and develop the skills and confidence needed to attain them. Student Success offers a range of courses and programs, plus support for students with special educational requirements.

  • Facilities

The School of Philosophy & Theology is located in the heart of Fremantle on Croke Street. Students have access to St Teresa’s Library. This modern facility, on Bateman Courtyard, has a large collection of printed and digital material, study rooms, open access PCs, study tables and colour printers.
