Ebooks@NDA

The University Library has begun collecting books in electronic format.  We hope that this will provide customers with 24/7 on and off-campus access to academic quality books.  This page is a gateway to this collection.

The collection is drawn from a number of different sources, this means that you will need to become familiar with using a variety of interfaces and platforms to access these books.  We are endeavouring to minimise the differences in the appearance and functionality of these ebooks and online help for these sources is available on our Frequently Asked Questions knowledge base .

We would welcome feedback, both positive and negative, as we enlarge this collection.  Click here to provide us with your comments.

Ebook Library Collection

The University Library has purchased a small set of texts from this provider of electronic books as a trial (the titles are listed as links below). We want to gauge how useful library customers find the format and platform for these books.  If you find them easy to use we would like to hear from you.  We will select books from this vendor which directly support our teaching programme.

To view the Ebook Library collection you will need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader on your PC

Please note if using a computer on campus to read an Ebook Library book select the 'READ ONLINE' option only, otherwise when you log off the computer you will not be able to access the title again until the loan has expired

Ebrary

We have a subscription to the academic collection from Ebrary.  These 26,000+ titles can be searched as a collection or can be accessed from records in the Library Catalogue.  As you search the catalogue you will come across these records and can use them to link directly to the book you have found or alternatively if you wish to search the whole collection use the Ebrary link above. As this is a pre-existing collection you will also find titles on other subject areas that do not directly support the teachings of the University.
To view a title you will need to install the Ebrary reader on your PC or laptop

Informit e-Library

This growing collection of Australian e-books sits within the ‘Informit’ database collection.  The books can be read on the ‘Informit’ platform, which many of you will already be familiar with.  These are not titles we have specifically chosen but a good number are relevant to our teaching programmes.
