About the Galvin Medical Library

The Galvin Medical Library is located in the School of Medicine building on Henry Street in Fremantle in a converted warehouse & office building originally constructed in 1900. The Library opened in 2005 and holds the books, journals and other items required to support the Schools of Health Sciences, Medicine and Nursing, including the teaching areas of Biomedical Sciences, Counselling, Health and Physical Education and Physiotherapy.

The Library provides computer workstations, study carrels, study rooms, and photocopying and printing facilities for students. There is also a Resource Room containing anatomical models located within the Library. The physical collection of books and journals is enhanced by access to electronic databases and journals via the University website. Staff and students can organise for reciprocal borrowing arrangements with Edith Cowan and Murdoch University Libraries, and a document delivery service is also available to Masters (Thesis) and PhD students, and academic staff. For help locating relevant resources, please contact the Library staff at the loans desk.
