The Serenity Prayer

Lord, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference.  Amen.

A Simple Prayer

Lord help me to remember that nothing
is going to happen to me today that You and I
together can't handle.  Amen.

A Simple Prayer in Troubled Times

God of love,
turn our hearts to your ways;
and give us peace.  Amen.

A Daily Prayer

Dear Lord, in whom we live and move and have our being,
guide us in the ways of mercy and truth
that in all the cares and pre-occupations of life
we may keep cool heads and loving hearts
as we walk the way of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen

Prayer of St Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow Love;
Where there is injury-Pardon;
Where there is doubt-Faith;
Where there is despair-Hope;
Where there is darkness-Light;
And where there is sadness-Joy.
Lord, grant that I may seek rather
to Comfort than to be comforted,
to Understand rather than to be understood,
to Love than to be loved.
For it is by Giving that one receives,
by Forgiving that one is forgiven,
and by Dying that one awakens to Eternal Life.  Amen.

A Prayer of Trust
(St. Ignatius of Loyola, 1491-1556)
O Christ Jesus, when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.

Come, Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.
V. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray.  O God, Who instructs the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit,
grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation.
Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Dismissal

Now go into the “world” with confidence, trusting that Christ is walking with you.
