Helping Hand offers students a variety of ways to help, serve and love those who are in great need, including:

Helping the Homeless

Located in Surry Hills, a short walk from ND. Volunteers are needed to help the Sisters in caring for the poor and homeless. It runs from 10am – midday every weekday.

Help the Capuchin Friars give out tea and coffee to the poor and homeless in inner city Sydney on Friday and Saturday nights.

Located in Woolloomooloo, the hostel serves as a crisis accommodation centre, soup kitchen and learning centre.


Helping the elderly and those with a disability

Assist the Little Sisters of the Poor, in caring for the elderly at the Mount St Joseph’s Nursing Home, located in Randwick.

A day center in Lewisham providing services for people primarily living with a mental illness and/or disability.


Helping refugees

SPARK provides curriculum, social and cultural support to newly arrived refugee children and their families through selected primary schools in Central Western Sydney. For more info visit
