Notre Dame’s Vice Chancellor, Dr Peter Tannock welcomed City of Fremantle Councillors to the University for their annual tour of the Campus on Tuesday 1 July.
The visit by Councillors and members of staff from the City of Fremantle is an important opportunity for them to see first-hand the physical progress of the Campus and to hear about the University’s latest developments.
Whilst on Campus the Councillors toured the new state-of-the-art Health Sciences Research and Education Building which is located on the corner of Phillimore and Henry Streets in Fremantle’s historic West End.
Officially opened in April this year, the new building, constructed, furnished and equipped at a total cost of $6.3 million is being used for education and training in Health Sciences and to support health-related research.
Councillors also had the opportunity to look at the Architect’s plans for the new Education Building the University is planning to build, subject to the City of Fremantle’s approval, on a vacant site on Cliff Street.
