Dr Richard Hamilton appointed a Visiting Fellowship

Dr Richard Hamilton

It is my great pleasure to announce that one of our faculty members, Dr Richard Paul Hamilton (Senior Lecturer in the School of Philosophy and Theology), has been appointed to a visiting fellowship at the Allan Gray Centre for Leadership Ethics at Rhodes University in South Africa. The fellowship, which commences in July, 2015 and runs until June 2016, will involve working closely with the centre which exists to foster ethical conduct and vision in the next generation of South African political and business leaders. It will also provide Dr Hamilton with significant time to work on his own research on Professional Ethics, Citizenship and Virtue Ethics.

Dr Hamilton says “This is a great opportunity, which will ultimately benefit future students of mine in professional, business and medical ethics. There are many important parallels between South Africa and Australia as well as significant differences. I am grateful to Rhodes University for this fellowship and to the University of Notre Dame Australia for granting me the leave to pursue it.” On behalf of the School of Philosophy and Theology I congratulate Dr Hamilton on this prestigious appointment.
