Notre Dame appoints new Dean, School of Nursing

The University of Notre Dame Australia has appointed Professor Sally Robertson as Dean of the School of Nursing (Sydney).
Professor Robertson joined the university in 2010 as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and shortly after took on the role of Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching). She has been Acting Dean of the School since January this year.
Our School of Nursing has an excellent reputation with outstanding graduates. I look forward to consolidating the School’s reputation in undergraduate education while developing its profile in postgraduate education and research,” said Professor Robertson.
Professor Robertson has extensive experience in both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing education with a specific focus on acute and critical care nursing. She also has a long track-record in teaching and learning in higher education, curriculum development and e-learning.
Professor Robertson is a life member of the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses; Fellow, Australian College of Nursing; and Vice President, Xi Omnicron chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing. She was the Editor-in-Chief of Australian Critical Care from 1986 – 1995. Under her leadership, Australian Critical Care grew from a non-refereed newsletter to a fully refereed publication, recognised internationally and indexed on Cumulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), the International Nursing Index (INI) and Medline. Sally is also an assessor for the Australian Nursing ad Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC).
Before joining Notre Dame, Professor Robertson held the position of Manager, Education Development at The College of Nursing (now the Australian College of Nursing) from July 2006 – February 2010. She has also held the positions as Project Officer - Curriculum and Accreditation and Course coordinator - Graduate Certificate in Critical Care at ACN.
