High achievers honoured at annual lunch
26 October 2017
The University of Notre Dame Australia has recognised high achieving students at an annual lunch held in Sydney yesterday (Wednesday, 25 October).
Forty-five students who achieved outstanding results in their studies were invited to the lunch as a celebration and recognition of their contribution to the Notre Dame community.
Hayley Wareing, a Bachelor of Nursing student in her final year, said it was a privilege to be acknowledged. “It’s always nice to be recognised and to see that the university really appreciates the hard work that the students have put in.”
Lucy Goodin, a third year Bachelor of Laws student, said her academic success can be partly attributed to the personalised learning experience offered at Notre Dame.
“Unlike bigger universities, you get one on one attention at Notre Dame - tutors and lecturers know your name and they always make the effort to meet with you - which equips you to achieve academically,” said Lucy.
Pro Vice Chancellor, Sydney Professor Margot Kearns, said the lunch was a special opportunity for the University to acknowledge the hard work of high achieving students and to gain insight into opportunities for further study including double degrees, honours and postgraduate study.
