The Vice Chancellor of The University of Notre Dame Australia, Dr Peter Tannock, has announced that the University will shortly commence construction of a new Education Building on a vacant site on Cliff Street in the West End of Fremantle. It is subject to the City of Fremantle’s approval. This new development, with a total value of about $12.0m, has been funded by a combination of Federal and State Governments, private benefactors, and the University.

Dr Peter Tannock said this was an important development for the University, and reflected the high priority given by the Federal and State Governments to increasing the supply of teachers for WA schools.

Dr Tannock said that this substantial new limestone building, designed by the University’s long-standing architects, Marcus Collins Architects, would be a further beautiful and functional addition to this very special part of Fremantle. The new building will be ready for use by February, 2010.
