Notre Dame's 2005 Australian University Games teams

Students from The University of Notre Dame Australia have recently returned from Brisbane where they successfully competed in the 2005 Australian University Games.

42 Universities were represented with Notre Dame participating in the Men’s Basketball, Mixed Touch Rugby, Women’s Water Polo and Men’s Rugby 7s.

Notre Dame’s Sport, Recreation and Events Officer, David McLean travelled with the teams. “As one of the newer and smaller Universities this was only our third year competing at a national level. We were all very proud of our achievements and appreciated the opportunity to raise the profile of the University and Fremantle,“ he said.

Extensive fundraising was undertaken to fund the teams’ travel and accommodation. The teams were particularly grateful to local Fremantle businesses, The Harbourside and Mountain Designs, for their support.
