  • Australian Research Council (ARC)

    The Australian Research Council (ARC) funds research across all disciplines except health and medical research. ARC has a range of schemes with specific guidelines and closing dates throughout the year.

    RMS
    Applications to ARC are submitted via RMS online following certification by the administering university. The Research Office at Notre Dame has ARC expertise to help you with RMS login and your funding application.

    Compliance with the Defence Trade Controls Act 2012 is a condition for receipt of research funding by the Australian Research Council (ARC).

  • National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC)

    The National Health & Medical Council (NHMRC) funds health and medical research. NHMRC has a range of schemes with specific guidelines and closing dates throughout the year. GrantConnect is another way of informing yourself on current and future NHMRC, ARC and other Australian Government grant funding opportunities. It is the Australian Government’s whole-of-government grants information system to find and access Commonwealth grant opportunities and grant opportunity guidelines.

    New NHMRC Grant scheme
    NHMRC commences a new grant program in 2020. Funding applications prepared for submission in 2019 will need to align with the restructured scheme.     Medical Research Future Fund
    NHMRC also works with the Department of Health to provide funding from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) in support of health and medical research and innovation projects in Australia. The latest MRFF priorities have been released and are outlined here.
