Walking Sticks or Walking with Poles
The purpose of this collaborative study conducted with the City of Rockingham WA was to assess the prospective health benefits to older adults who walk regularly on a firm surface or on soft dry beach sand using Nordic walking poles.

Patient education for falls prevention
This research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of a patient education program for falls prevention in hospitals at two sites in Queensland and Western Australia.  The Perth study involves an extended (6 month) follow-up of participants to determine effects of the education on falls rates following hospitalisation and to investigate falls prevention behaviour in older people.
