Questionable Practices

The University of Notre Dame expects research staff and students to conduct research with integrity from the conception of a research idea to the dissemination of the study findings.

A compromise to research integrity by the University’s staff and students may violate the Notre Dame Code of Conduct for Research, as described in the section ‘Breach of Code’.

This section will provide more information of three issues worthwhile to consider when a research project is finalised and ready to be published: plagiarism & copyright, authorship and duplicate publication.

These issues are known to cause most often unintended but nevertheless unacceptable practices when publishing new research in international peer-reviewed academic journals.
