Aurora Native Title Internship Program
The Aurora Native Title Internship Program places law, anthropology and other social science (archaeology, cultural heritage, environmental management, human geography, history and sociology) students and graduates from Australian universities at Native Title Representative Bodies (NTRBs) and other organisations involved in policy development, social justice and Indigenous affairs. The program introduces candidates to career opportunities in native title and Indigenous affairs and at the same time provides assistance to under-resourced and over-worked organisations.

Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships
The Commonwealth Scholarships Program is administered on behalf of the Australian Government by eligible higher education providers. There are a number of Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships that Indigenous students can apply for. These include:
Indigenous Access Scholarship (IAS) provide eligible commencing students with a one off payment. These scholarships assist Indigenous students to undertake an eligible enabling course, undergraduate course or graduate diploma (or equivalent post graduate course of study) in an area of National Priority required for initial registration to practice in the chosen National Priority field.
Indigenous Commonwealth Education Cost Scholarship (ICECS) are available to future full-time Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to assist with the costs associated with higher education.
Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarship (ICAS) seeks to help low-income full-time Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with the costs associated with higher education, who have moved a significant distance to study.
Indigenous Enabling Commonwealth Education Cost Scholarship (IECECS) are available to future full-time Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to assist with the costs associated with the enabling or bridging courses at Universities.
Indigenous Enabling Commonwealth Accommodation Cost Scholarship (IECAS) are available to future full-time Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to assist with the costs associated with the enabling or bridging courses at Universities, whom have moved a significant distance to study.

The Louisa Alessandri Memorial Fund (LAMF) Scholarship
Value: $8,000
Applications close 30 September 2011.
The Scholarship is intended to assist a studentwith a disability to achieve his or her career aspirations.
Funds may be used for a variety of purposes, including course fees, equipment, support, interpreters, transport, etc.

Free UK Overseas Experience 2011
All undergraduate students due to finish their study in 2011 are welcome to apply for the 2011 Free UK OE Scholarships. Three students will be awarded flights, accommodation, visas, travel insurance, UK sim card and vouchers to work in the UK.

The Charlie Perkins Scholarships
Each year the Charlie Perkins Scholarship Trust offers two scholarships for Indigenous postgraduates to study at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge for up to three years.

The Charlie Perkins Scholarships will only be awarded to students who have been accepted to either the University of Oxford or Cambridge. In most instances, this will require a First Class Honours degree or a very strong Second Class Honours degree.

AUA Indigenous Leadership Scholarship

The Australian Uranium Association’s “Indigenous Leadership Scholarship” is open to applications from Indigenous students commencing or continuing undergraduate studies in 2012 in the disciplines of Science, Engineering or Business Management.
There are three (3) scholarships available. The value of each scholarship is $10,000 per annum, for each year of undergraduate study.

The Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Awards
The Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Awards are a unique opportunity for you to undertake international study and research related to your Australian degree, and gain international work experience through an internship, building your professional network in Asia.
The Awards are open to Australian undergraduates and postgraduates in any field of study. Twenty postgraduate and twenty undergraduate awards are available each year.

Eligibility is restricted to ‘RAAF families’, being those where the students parents or grandparents (living or dead), or other close relatives, serving, or have served, in the RAAF.

Rural Tertiary Hardship Fund
The Australian Government is ensuring that the most disadvantaged rural and regional students will now have more opportunity to attend university through the release of new grants under the Rural Tertiary Hardship Fund.
Students from areas other than major capital cities, commencing a bachelor degree in 2011 and experiencing severe financial hardship, are able to apply for a $3000one-off grant to assist in undertaking their university degree. In semester one, 2011 there will be around 1600grants made available.

The Australian Public Service Commission is offering Cadetships for Indigenous students. A Cadetship is a great way to be supported through your tertiary studies and give your career a head start. It provides practical work placements to complement your study in a flexible manner, as well as financial assistance while you complete your degree. Each year of study, cadets undertake 12 weeks of work placements with their employing agency and are paid a wage while they study.
Importantly, your focus of study does not necessarily have to match our fields of work, which provides a great opportunity to learn even more. Our workplaces are characterised by high levels of motivation, professionalism and diversity, with excellent rewards, learning opportunities, career prospects, and a family-friendly culture.
