Dr Catherine Thill is the foundational lecturer in Sociology at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney. In addition, Cate coordinates the School of Arts & Sciences Seminar Series and first year Communications unit. She is also a member of the Australian Research Council’s prestigious Cultural Research Network.
Catherine's holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with First Class Honours and a PhD from the University of Sydney. Her PhD research was focused on the ethics of welfare reform and she is currently researching listening as a significant democratic practice in the field of service delivery. Cate has published in Contretemps and (forthcoming) in Continuum Journal of Media and Cultural Studies. She has also presented papers at a number of international and national conferences including Difference, Gender and Class at the University of Essex.
Catherine's research & teaching interests include social policy, ethics & social division.
Catherine also has experience working as a policy officer for the Mental Health Coordinating Council (the peak body for mental health in NSW). |
