Marco Ianniello is a film writer, director and producer. His most recent directorial credits include Playing in the Shadows, a documentary produced for Screen Australia and the ABC about a basketball competition for teens living in a notorious public housing estate in Sydney’s Woolloomooloo.  The film premiered at the Sydney Film Festival in 2008 in addition to a number of film festivals worldwide and gained a nomination for Best Feature Documentary at the 2008 Inside Film Awards. Additional documentaries to screen on the ABC and in film festivals nationally and abroad include The Graeme Bell All Stars Play On, a one-hour documentary following the legendary Australian jazz band, and Sentences, a documentary about an inmate art program inside Long Bay Gaol.  Sentences won the IF Award (2005) for Best Short Documentary.
Marco has been lecturing in film and screen production at The University of Notre Dame (Sydney) since its foundation year in 2006 and holds a Master of Arts in Documentary Production from the Australian Film TV and Radio School (AFTRS).
Marco’s current creative research output includes the short drama Hush (co-writer/director) in addition to a television drama series in script development.
