Associate Professor Hélène de Burgh-Woodman is Head of Management and Postgraduate/Honours Co-ordinator at The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Sydney School of Business. She is also Chair of the School Research Committee. Her previous experience includes appointments as Associate Professor at ESC Rennes, France and Lecturer at The University of Newcastle, Australia. Hélène currently teaches a range of management units across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Having completed a PhD in Cultural Theory (University of Melbourne) and another in Marketing (Monash University, which won the Mollie Holman Medal for best PhD), Hélène has drawn on these two disciplines to publish extensively on consumption, marketing communications and cultural meaning. Her recent work includes papers in the European Journal of Marketing, Consumption, Markets and Culture; Marketing Theory; Qualitative Market Research; and Journal of Sociology and Social Policy.

Hélène currently supervises numerous postgraduate projects in management and marketing. She has been the recipient of an Endeavour Research Fellowship, a member of the University of Newcastle's and University of Notre Dame's HRECs, chaired various research committees and been a member of ERA review panels. She has also held positions in industry as a senior marketing manager and a marketing/management consultant. Hélène is a member of the Association for Consumer Research and the European Marketing Academy.
