Associate Professor Geoff Brooke-Cowden is the Hospital Coordinator at Auburn Hospital for the School of Medicine, Sydney.

Geoff Brooke-Cowden is a graduate of the University of Western Australia and has practiced as a surgeon for 34 years.  Associate Professor Brooke-Cowden is currently the Chairman of the Medical Staff Council and Director of Surgery at Auburn Hospital, as well as the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at The Hills Private Hospital and a member of the New South Wales Surgical Services Taskforce.  In 2001 Associate Professor Brooke-Cowden directed the Auburn Elective Surgical Pilot Program, which demonstrated the capacity to double throughput in operating theatres with significant cost reduction, while maintaining positive outcomes for patients.  This initiative underpinned the development of an Elective Surgical Program in the area, and provided a model for many similar initiatives subsequently introduced into the NSW public hospital system. 

Associate Professor Brooke-Cowden has taught anatomy at the University of Western Australia and in a number of medical schools in NSW. He has also been a reserve Captain in the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps, a district netball coach, President of his local Parents & Citizen’s Association, and a founder of the Hills/Parramatta Life Education drug & alcohol awareness program for primary school children.  Associate Professor Brooke-Cowden was a Councillor of Baulkham Hills Shire for eight years, and Mayor for five of those years.  His hobbies are fishing, gardening and grandchildren.
