John is a registered nurse with a special interest in neurophysiology and neurosurgery. He has lectured in this area at the University of Sydney, the NSW College of Nursing,
and Concord, Canterbury and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals. He has also spent many years working as a clinical nurse specialist, clinical nurse educator and nurse unit manager of Neurosciences ICU at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
