FAQ's
May I make an annual appeal gift in honour or in memory of someone?
Gifts can be made to the Annual Appeal in honour or in memory of a loved one, friend, or colleague. Please notify us of the name of the individual you wish to honour when you make your gift.
How much should I give to the Annual Appeal?
Any gift, regardless of the size, is important. We invite you to give what you can rather than to not give at all.
Your support, at any level, will have an impact.
Is a gift to the Annual Appeal tax deductible?
Yes. The University of Notre Dame is registered as a Deductible Gift Recipient. All gifts over $2.00 are tax deductible in Australia.

Can I designate where my donation goes?
Yes. Your gifts can be unrestricted, allowing the Vice Chancellor to use funds where she sees a need, or restricted to the Futures Scholarship Fund or Research Fund.
Can I support other specific areas of the University?
Yes. You can choose to direct your gift to a particular School or program. The Futures Scholarship Fund and the Research Fund have been identified as priority areas, however, if you would like to direct your gifts to other areas please contact us to discuss various ways of giving.
What are matching gifts?
Many companies offer matching gift programs that amplify the impact of their employees’ personal contributions without increasing the obligation of the individual donor. Most participating organisations will match employee gifts dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple a gift.
Matching gifts will be directed to the same area of the University as your personal gift. Please consult your human resources department for your organisation’s policy.
What are Unrestricted and Restricted Gifts?
Unrestricted gifts made to the University are used where they're needed most and will have the most immediate impact on student needs.
Gifts can be restricted for specific purposes including scholarships, research, and particular Schools and programs. You may restrict the use of your gift by indicating this with a letter attached to your gift or indicating this on your Gift Form.
