Notre Dame: Respect. Now. Always.

The University of Notre Dame Australia has joined with all other Australian universities in a national initiative driven by Universities Australia to ensure all students and staff continue to promote a culture of safety and respect in their university community.

The Respect. Now. Always. campaign aims to raise awareness among university students and staff that sexual assault and harassment are unacceptable, and to ensure that avenues of support are available, appropriate and easily accessible.

This campaign reflects the longstanding work of the University. Underpinned by its Objects, Notre Dame is commitment to providing an excellent standard of pastoral care to all students in a learning environment within a context of Catholic faith and values.

National University Support Line: 1800 572 224

(A 24/7 counselling service provided by Rape and Domestic Violence Services Australia
specialising in sexual assault and family violence counselling)

Our shared task as a University community is to strengthen a culture of awareness, prevention and support across all of its Campuses to encourage the safest environment in which to study, socialise and flourish in university life.

The results of the AHRC National Report on Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment are now available.

The AHRC Methodology document (below) provides context and explanation for both the Australian Human Rights Commission National report and the Notre Dame Institutional Report. We therefore strongly recommend that you read the Methodology document alongside the other two reports.

The Vice Chancellor has established an Advisory Committee to assist in ongoing implementation of the AHRC report recommendations.
